E11 Bio is on a mission to advance connectomics towards whole brain scale for humans and other mammals. E11 Bio is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Chief of Staff to drive operational excellence and support project execution across the organization. In this high-impact role, you’ll have a bird’s-eye view of all functions at E11 Bio—helping to align priorities, streamline workflows, and ensure projects stay on track. You’ll play a key role in keeping the ship running smoothly while enabling teams to deliver ambitious goals on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Project Management:
- Tracking progress of scientific and operational projects by providing structural support (meetings, note-taking, action items followups), identifying and removing blockers, and allocating resources.
- Facilitating clear communication of timelines and dependencies towards objectives across the org.
- Organizing shared documentation resources and enforcing norms.
- Plan quarterly goal setting meetings
- Operations:
- Managing contracts, vendors, approvals, and maintenance, etc.
- Identifying and implement continuous improvement of SOPs, methods, time and resource allocation.
- Manage legal, IP, collaboration contracts.
- People Operations:
- Coordinating hiring paperwork, arranging visas, and onboarding new hires.
- Running feedback and performance review cycles.
- Host company events
- External Communication:
- Communicate externally by managing web presence (website, mailing list, blog, Twitter, LinkedIn), announcements/publications.
- Host events, help our scientists attend conferences, engage the neuroscience community
- Ensuring E11’s scientific team is supported when interfacing with external partners and collaborators.
- Assist the CEO:
- Take ownership of projects delegated by the CEO
- Help prepare slide presentations for board meetings, presentations, etc.
First 3 months
- In your first month, you’ll shadow and work with our COO to onboard to our existing operations processes. You will meet with team members and learn their needs and pain points in project management and support them in meetings, tasking in Asana, and reporting decisions and next steps to all stakeholders.
- By 2 months, you’ll start to identify and suggest improvements in project management, customizing them to individual team member needs. You will help with special projects tasked by the CEO and COO.
- At the 3 month mark, you will fully own project management (both internal and external) and various operations tasks. You will reorganize and augment our internal documentation (in Notion) on operational processes. You will assist the CEO and COO in special projects.
Qualifications
- Any degree in life sciences or 2+ years of industry experience in project management in a life science setting
- Domain knowledge related to E11’s scientific domains and/or operation domains
- Strong track record of managing complex research programs, aligning the smallest details to overall organization objectives
- Experience establishing scientific and/or administrative pipelines and processes
- High level of initiative and flexibility, excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Exceptional organizational, time management and critical thinking skills, strong documentation practices and attention to detail.

$96,000 - $164,000 a year
