Conversant Group is an IT infrastructure and security consulting company founded in 2009 and based in Chattanooga, TN. We are the world’s first Civilian Cybersecurity Force, dedicated to defeating cyber terrorists. To do so, Conversant Group is organized into three battalions: Athena7 which provides infrastructure assessment, strategy and remediation, Grypho5 which offers ongoing managed protection, and Fenix24 which provides rapid restoration in case of a cyberattack.
We are searching for a Principal Software Architect to join our newly established software team. As a Principal Software Architect, you will play a key role in designing and building sophisticated software systems and applications. You will be responsible for setting the technical vision and strategy, ensuring that the software architecture aligns with business goals. Your expertise in cloud-based technologies will drive the development of scalable, efficient, and cutting-edge solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement the technical vision and strategy for software architecture.
- Lead architectural decisions for cloud-based solutions, including the selection of technologies and platforms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including business leaders and development teams, to align architectural strategy with business objectives.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software development teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the evaluation and adoption of new technologies and methodologies to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of software solutions.
- Lead the design of robust and scalable cloud-native applications.
- Manage the transition and migration of legacy systems to modern cloud-based environments.
- Maintain high standards of software quality by establishing good practices and habits within the development team.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications, Requirements and Skills
- 6+ years of experience in software architecture, with a proven track record in designing large-scale, complex SaaS systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in cloud computing, with in-depth knowledge of cloud services and cloud architecture best practices (Azure experience preferred).
- Extensive experience in designing and developing software with Microsoft .NET framework and related technologies.
- Proficient in multiple programming languages and frameworks, with a strong emphasis on .NET, C#, ASP.NET, and .NET Core.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient deployment and operations of applications on Azure.
- Strong understanding of Azure security best practices and experience in implementing secure, resilient, and compliant software solutions.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical vision to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Extensive experience with modern software development practices and tools, including Agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements in software development.
- Bachelors or Associate degree in Information Technology, Business, Operations, or relevant field experience strongly preferred.
