Conversant Group is an IT infrastructure and security consulting company founded in 2009 and based in Chattanooga, TN. We are the world’s first Civilian Cybersecurity Force, dedicated to defeating cyber terrorists. To do so, Conversant Group is organized into three battalions: Athena7 which provides infrastructure assessment, strategy and remediation, Grypho5 which offers ongoing managed protection, and Fenix24 which provides rapid restoration in case of a cyberattack.



The People & Culture (P&C) Business Partner will partner with P&C and business managers to proactively solve people challenges and provide a comprehensive, pragmatic and value-adding service to the Company. This position is responsible for overseeing Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, and supporting of companywide Compensation & Benefits Administration and P&C Projects.

Key Responsibilities

    • Support the P&C team to drive P&C Infrastructure changes that support Company growth and scalability.
    • Oversee the employee referral process, to include the screening of candidate referrals and tracking of employee referral bonus.
    • Research requests pertaining to policies, recruitment, and/or training; Interpret and explain company policies and procedures to employees and facilitate new programs.
    • Support employee engagement activities, such as employee meetings, social and wellness events and activities, and other corporate events, by working closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
    • Stay current with State/Federal regulations and apply appropriate changes to P&C processes/procedures.
    • Support P&C Generalist with global Payroll administration (US & Europe).
    • Provide support to team members for leave of absence questions; Overall understanding and ability to track FMLA, State and Company leaves.
    • Provide guidance, advice and coaching to business leaders on the full spectrum of core P&C services, policies and practices and employee relations matters.
    • Manage employee relations investigation process; Provide coaching and guidance to management and employees to effectively address workplace and employee relation issues, to include difficult conversations, performance feedback and career pathing.
    • Partner with the P&C Management team and business leaders in the development and implementation of strategies that support the development, engagement and retention of employees.
    • Partner with P&C team to support the succession planning process to include building training and development plans that will assist employees by enhancing their performance in their current role and preparing them for future roles within the Company.
    • Maintain knowledge of industry trends in the development of employment, recruiting, compensation, employee relations and benefit programs; Keep up to date with current labor laws and regulations.
    • Provide personal leadership that supports the Company’s safe and respectful workplace.
    • Project managing various P&C initiatives ensuring that all are delivered on time and to plan.
    • Provide advice, support, information and guidance on Company policies & procedures, including disciplinary and grievance, performance management, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits and general employment law.

Qualifications, Requirements & Preferred Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required.
    • Minimum five (5) years of experience in related areas, including Employee Relations, investigations and P&C compliance.
    • SHRM or PHR certification required.
    • Global HR experience preferred.
    • High level of professionalism and integrity with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal laws and regulations involving employment, P&C policies, payroll and benefit programs.
    • Excellent organization, analytical and written skills with attention to detail and ability to spot numerical and grammatical errors.
    • Adaptable with ability to function well in a high-paced and changing environment.
    • Results-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and heightened sense of urgency.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Payroll systems, employee management software and HRIS platforms; Experience in PeopleHR a plus.
    • In-depth knowledge of HR operations and legal regulations.
    • Ability to form relationships across all levels of the company while modeling Conversant’s culture and Good Samaritan values.
