Job Description: 
Copia is seeking an experienced Sr. Construction Project Manager with 5-10 years of experience administering procurement contracts for utility scale photovoltaic and battery storage components including, but not limited to, modules, inverters, transformers, racking, and batteries. The ideal candidate will excel in project management, ensuring that all projects stay on track and meet strategic goals, as well as communication, decision making, problem solving, and analytical skills. 

The Sr. Construction Project Manager will report directly to the Managing Director, Head of Procurement and Project Management. The Sr. Construction Project Manager will work closely with Copia’s development, asset management, energy markets, legal, and finance teams.
 
What you will do: 
The Sr. Construction Project Manager will work alongside other Copia team members, to execute on a muti-gigawatt pipeline of projects under pre-construction planning or in construction. Specific duties will include:  
·         Overall responsibility to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. 
·         As a primary responsible party, coordinate with Copia teams and external resources to run competitive EPC Contract RFPs, evaluate proposals, and negotiate and execute EPC Contracts.  
·         Manage 3rd party project managers and project schedulers (Project Team) in the development and management of critical path construction schedules across multiple assets.  
·         Work with the Project Team and key strategic partners to monitor projects, operational decision, scheduling requirements, risk assessments, legal assessments and deliverables.  
·         Lead the Project Team in producing a responsibility listing for the entire project staff, including but not limited to administrative assignments. 
·         Manage the Project Team in tracking, reviewing and processing of all construction documentation including but not limited to change proposal requests, change orders, claims, requests for information and project notices, including making recommendations to senior leadership and executives.  
·         Work with the Project Team in analyzing variances from schedule and budget and preparing variance reports with research and report plans for remediation.  
·         Manage the preparation and execution of the project closeout process, including all project turnover documentation. Including but not limited to warranty assignments, third party authorizations and as-built diagram coordination. 
·         Participate in and sometimes lead on site meetings & conference calls in support of the Project Team.  
·         Work with project personnel to ensure all project documentation is filed and distributed correctly.  
·         Familiarize and manage compliance with all project contracts and agreements.  
·         Manage the Project Team in preparing budget requests, change orders, payment applications, and lead on obtaining approvals 
·         Work with the Project Team to review and approve contractor pay applications, ensuring that all necessary substantiating documentation is received prior to payment approval.  
·         Ensure the Project Team strictly follows company documentation procedures for all on-site and off-site operations. 
·         Visit project sites 1-2 weeks per month.

Minimum Qualifications: 
·         5-10 years professional experience administering procurement contracts for utility scale photovoltaic and battery storage components including, but not limited to, modules, inverters, transformers, racking, and batteries 
·         Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, finance, economics, engineering, or other quantitative/environmental related fields. 
·         Experience in the Renewable Energy Industry with a focus on utility-scale photovoltaic and battery energy storage systems 
·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 
·         Able to demonstrate experience dealing successfully with peers, subordinates, management, and unaffiliated third parties 
·         Exceptional presentation and communication skills 
·         Ability to be on site at projects 1-2 weeks per month 
·         Ability to travel up to 30%
