Job Description:
Copia is seeking an Associate, Real Estate to work within the legal department and support late-stage project development, finance, and execution. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and have several years of relevant real estate experience.
The Associate, Real Estate will report directly to the Sr. Manager, Real Estate working closely with Copia’s development, legal, and finance teams in an individual contributor capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
•Read and summarize preliminary title reports and commitments
•Support title curative efforts and satisfying requirements necessary to obtain title insurance.
•Review different types of real property agreements including deeds, leases, and easements.
•Review legal descriptions and maps including ALTA surveys, GIS, and Google Earth.
•Research various types of public records including taxes, assessor information, and land records.
•Track open action items with due dates, deliverables, and relevant parties.
•Communicate and coordinate needs directly with landowners, outside counsel, and other third parties.
•Join regular internal team calls and provide updates on real estate related items.
•Support project financing and title policy issuance.

Minimum Qualifications:
•3-5 years professional experience, preferably in the renewable energy industry
•Bachelor’s degree preferred
•Proven experience with Microsoft Office, including advanced proficiency in PowerPoint & Excel
•Experience with project management software
•Ability to work in the Dana Point, CA office a minimum of 3 days per week.
•Ability to travel up to 10%
