Job Description: 

Copia is seeking a Tax Manager to work alongside the Corporate Finance team and all functions at Copia to manage tax compliance, strategy and analysis. This combination of financial acumen, strategic thinking, and tax expertise is essential to drive financial performance and contribute to the company's long-term success. This role requires working knowledge of tax issues skills to navigate the complex tax landscape specific to the renewable energy industry. 

The Tax Manager will report directly to the Director, Corporate Finance in an individual contributor capacity. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Utilize technical tax skills to navigate the complex tax landscape specific to the renewable energy industry, including tax planning, partnership structuring/ optimization, compliance, incentives, and transfer pricing. 

Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely tax filings, including income tax, sales tax, and other relevant tax returns. 

Evaluate tax risks and implement strategies to optimize tax efficiency while ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations. 

Provide tax guidance and support to internal stakeholders, including finance, accounting, legal, commercial, and project teams. 

Provide support and complete filings and related analysis related to Investment Tax and Production Tax Credits, including transferability and Prevailing Wage and Apprenticeship compliance 

Partnering with Procurement and Legal to review and structure contracts to contemplate and optimize tax outcomes

Minimum Qualifications: 

5+ years professional experience in tax, preferably within public accounting specializing in the renewable energy sector.  

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. CPA is preferred. 

In-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements applicable to the renewable energy industry. 

Excellent analytical skills with the ability provide strategic recommendations. 

Proven experience with Microsoft Office, including advanced proficiency in Excel 

Ability to work in the Lake Oswego, OR office a minimum of 3 days per week.  

Ability to travel up to 10%
