Job Description:
Copia is seeking a Senior Accountant to work within the Corporate Finance team to prepare financial statements and implement of technical accounting policies and processes. This role requires knowledge of GAAP and the ability to apply accounting standards relevant to the renewable energy industry.
The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Manager – Corporate Finance in an individual contributor capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
•In coordination with internal team members and external vendors, set accounting policies that adhere to GAAP requirements and support Copia's initiatives.
•Own and lead GAAP accounting policy documentation efforts related to ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 810, ASC 815 and other relevant accounting standards.
•Own and lead cross-functional efforts to develop, implement and document accounting processes to support technical accounting policies.
•Support technical accounting analysis of offtake, procurement, construction and other significant contracts executed by Copia.
•Assist in GAAP and management financial statement preparation and analysis on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis and facilitate distribution to external parties in compliance with contract obligations.
•Lead external year end audits of GAAP financial statements.
•Perform due diligence financial statement risk assessments on potential counterparties.
•Periodically assist in preparation and review of journal entries, particularly those related to hedging and derivatives, fair value assessments, significant M&A transactions, related party legal entity assignments, and other GAAP adjustments.

Minimum Qualifications:
•4+ years professional experience in accounting, including experience in the renewable energy industry
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
•CPA license required
•Proven experience with Microsoft Office, including advanced proficiency in PowerPoint & Excel
•Experience with project management software
•Ability to work in the Salt Lake City, Utah or Lake Oswego, Oregon office a minimum of 3 days per week.
•Ability to travel 3-5 times per year
