The Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer is responsible fordesign, administration and support of Microsoft 365 services. This role is responsible forresponding to Tier 2/3 support issues and escalations from the NOC. Provide day-to-day operational support, manage escalated incidents, perform tenant and service configurations.  
 
Working as a part of a Managed Service team, this role collaborates with clients, service desk staff, NOC staff, and senior members to provide exceptional support for our managed client portfolio.  

Essential Duties

    • React and resolve cases submitted or automatically alerted by monitoring tools 
    • Troubleshoot advanced issues and provide solution options and recommendations 
    • Proactively provide escalation within M365 tenant environment 
    • Conduct proactive performance assessments of clients' M365 environments, identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement. 
    • Aid other team members in the resolution of cases within the scope of skillset 
    • Assist with information gathering and reporting to either clients or Client Success Managers 
    • Collaborate with senior engineers to escalate issues as needed 
    • Develop, maintain and update technical knowledge base articles 
    • Some client interactions will be required 
    • Collaborate with peers across Managed Services Practice 
    • Participate in an on-call rotation 
    • After hours / weekend work may be a required 
    • All other duties as assigned 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • 5+ years of experience in IT or an MSP environment with a focus on Microsoft 365 
    • Microsoft Office 365 suite, SharePoint Online, Teams,OneDrive for Business, Preview 
    • Microsoft Power Platform, PowerApps, Power Automate, SharePoint Designer 
    • Copilot for Microsoft 365, Copilot Studio 
    • Microsoft 365 PowerShell scripting for administration and automation 
    • Administer, configure, and maintain SharePoint environments, sites, lists, and workflows 
    • Integrate SharePoint with Microsoft 365 services such as Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform 
    • Monitor performance, availability, and capability requirements 
    • Implement patches, updates, and service packs 
    • Manage user access, permission, and security groups 
    • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities 
    • Strong customer service focus and ability to work collaboratively with non-technical users 

Preferred Knowledge Skills, and Abilities

    • Experience with Power BI integration with Microsoft 365 
    • Understanding of Microsoft DLP platform 
    • Experience with workflow technologies SharePoint workflow, Nintex  
    • Experience with on-premises Microsoft Technology 
    • SharePoint on-premises 
    • SharePoint Framework 
    • Intermediate understanding of Active Directory, Entra ID 
    • Experience working for an MSP 
    • Experience navigating ticketing systems such as ServiceNow 
    • Experience using monitoring tools such as Logic Monitor 
    • Bachelor's degree or higher education diploma in Information Technology is desired 
    • Desired Certifications include Microsoft 365 Administrator, MS-102, Microsoft Power Platform Functional Consultant, PL-200, Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator, SC-300 
$75,000 - $95,000 a year
In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for discretionary bonus plan based on company and individual performance. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each candidate, including experience and location.
