Provide strategic oversight of all activities within Global People & Culture. 

Responsibilities:

    • The Senior Director of Global People & Culture will directly oversee a team of professionals concentrated in Human Resources while building an internationally compliant, culturally relevant with focus on the development, retention and empowering of staff at CORE.  Specifically, this individual is responsible for the following: 
    • Strategic Leadership 
    • Member of the Executive Team, providing strategic direction while working closely with the Chief Operating Officer on HR and Global People & Culture. 
    • Serve as a trusted partner on global people & culture and human resources issues, while promoting standards of excellence and sharing values across CORE’s diverse workforce.  
    • Provide superior team leadership to the Global People & Culture team. 
    • Administration  
    • Lead as providing and developing culturally relevant policies, updates, amendments, regular and relevant compliant updates.   
    • Develop related strategic plans for scaling capacity, improving processes and structures, and using technology to support CORE’s development and organizational goals. 
    • Liaise with internal and external legal mitigating risk to the organization related to people and personnel. 
    • Promote staff engagement, learning, well-being, capacity, and productivity and develop, track, to analyze metrics to assess progress and identify areas of improvement. 
    • Drive the development on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) matters. 
    • Oversee departmental staff, budgets, programs, and projects.  
    • Oversee recruitment, Safeguarding, staff relations, compensation, benefits, performance management, employee relations, workforce planning, professional and organizational development. 
    • Relations, Safeguarding & Compliance 
    • Serve as the primary advisor on HR audits and donor-related HR compliance issues. 
    • Advise relevant staff members on best practices related to relevant conflict resolution, and risk management. 
    • Recruiting: 
    • Provide leadership and strategy with an understanding of the nuances and essential principals of recruiting in order to support CORE’s culture and growth 
    • Support team with various recruitment job boards to expand talent acquisition reach • Passionate and excited about growing CORE’s employee talent 
    • Experience working with various Recruiting ATS Platforms  
    • Ideally, applicant will have nonprofit or NGO recruiting exposure

Scope and Travel:

    • Direct Reports: Safeguarding and Staff Relations Advisor, GP&C Senior Manager, Office Manager. 
    • Indirect Reports: Recruiter 

    • Travel: As needed, approximately 25 percent of the time. 

Essential Qualifications:

    • Advanced degree related to Human Resources. 
    • 10 years of progressive experience at the HR leadership level. 
    • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills. 

Experience:

    • Relevant international NGO experience. 
    • Familiarity with humanitarian environments. 
    • Experience with relevant donors and requirements e.g. USAID/BHA, Red Cross and related funders. 
    • Experience selecting and implementing new organization-wide HRIS systems 
$150,000 - $150,000 a year
In accordance with CA law, the expected pay range for this CA position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
