The Program Coordinator supports the operational and administrative functions of a multi-year program designed to reduce mental health disparities among youth (ages 0-25) in vulnerable communities in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.
The program will primarily focus on the geographies of East LA, South LA, the San Fernando Valley, San Gabriel Valley, and southern Ventura County.
This is a grant funded position through May 31, 2026.

Responsibilities:

    • Support planning and coordination of the program activities and operations
    • Coordinate and maintain applicable program schedules and agendas, which may include tracking deadlines and deliverables, taking meeting notes, communication with management and/or stakeholders and other follow-up action items
    • Attend community events to share program materials
    • Assist in planning events and outreach opportunities to share program materials
    • Coordinate with mental health partners on best practices and creating referral pathways
    • Assist in creating a Youth Advisory Board (YAB)
    • Assist in facilitating YAB Meetings
    • Other duties as assigned by the Program and Area Managers

Scope and Travel:

    • Extensive travel by foot and by car within Los Angeles and Ventura Counties, including travel to and from CORE’s Los Angeles Headquarters (Chinatown)

Qualifications:

    • Preference for candidate with bachelor’s degree in psychology, public health, communications, mental health, or other health sciences, or at least four year’s equivalent experience in relevant field

Experience:

    • Minimum 1 year experience in public health, mental health, community outreach or related fields
    • Experience in community outreach
    • Experience working with youth (0-25 year olds)
    • Experience working with youth-centric community-based organizations and volunteer groups, and other organizations and agencies in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties (preferred)

Skills and Competencies:

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient in MS Office applications
    • Flexible and adaptive to a frequently changing environment
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Close attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
    • Fluency in another language a plus, with preference for a Los Angeles County threshold language: Spanish, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Mandarin, Armenian, Russian, Tagalog, Korean, Persian (Farsi), Arabic, Cambodian
    • Reliable transportation is required
$27 - $27 an hour
In accordance with CA law, the expected pay range for this CA position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
