Develop and implement a comprehensive employee relations framework that encompasses multiple aspects of employee relations, aligning it with the organization’s overarching goals and objectives. Provide guidance, leadership to all activities, initiatives and rollouts as related to employee relations, safeguarding, diversity, equity & inclusion, performance management, employee engagement, and training & development. Regularly monitor, evaluate, and analyze effectiveness, data, and trends by utilizing feedback mechanisms to make data-driven recommendations.  

Responsibilities:

    • EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
    • Develops and implements employee relations policies.
    • Communicates with leaders and staff regarding relations issues; provides guidance and recommendations for resolution of issues.
    • Develops and pursues new goals and objectives for improvement in areas of employee relations.
    • Ensures the correct tracking and responses to all employee relations issues.
    • Leads the coordination of the investigation process including conducting objective, fair, thorough, unbiased, and timely investigations.
    • Maintains, develops, recommends, and implements Employee Relations program objectives, policies, and procedures.
    • Works with relevant teams to develop and guidance for Country Leadership to manage employee relations issues.
    • Prepares periodic analytics of employee relations data.

    • SAFEGUARDING
    • Leads the coordination of Safeguarding investigations including conducting objective, fair, thorough, unbiased, and timely investigations.
    • Identifies interdepartmental referral pathways and recommended actions.
    • Prepares/reviews communication with donors, regulatory bodies and any third party with regard to Safeguarding violations.
    • Prepares and provides necessary updates to program teams, and where appropriate.
    • Ensures the correct tracking and responses of all safeguarding issues.
    • Develops guidance for Country Leadership to manage related issues.
    • Lead trainings, work streams to country teams.
    • Facilitates and organizes monthly meetings of global safeguarding focal points.
    • Assist with developing, coordinating and recommending changes for the improvement of related workflow’s in country programs and corporate business units.
    • Contributes to the creation of a positive image and overall credibility of the organization, notably through the application of the CORE’s Code of Conduct and policies.

    • PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
    • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on performance management policies, procedures and best practices.  
    • Conduct regular training sessions to educate staff on the performance management process, goal setting, and feedback techniques. 
    • Advise and coach managers on effective performance management strategies including performance feedback, coaching and recognition. 
    • Collaborate with Global People & Culture team to ensure performance management is integrated with other GPC (HR) related functions including talent acquisition, learning & development, and succession planning. 
    • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in performance management, and proactively recommend innovative solutions to enhance the process.  

    • LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT
    • Collaborate with senior leadership and managers to identify training needs and conduct thorough needs assessments. 
    • Design and deliver engaging and impactful learning programs. 
    • Create and manage a diverse range of learning resources 
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts and external vendors to develop and deliver specialized training programs. 
    • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on career development. 
    • Coach and mentor employees on professional development opportunities and provide resources to support their growth.  

    • EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to assess the current state of employee engagement and identify areas for improvement. 
    • Design and implement initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction, motivation, and overall engagement including recognition programs, wellness initiatives, and team-building activities. 
    • Develop and deliver training sessions for managers and employees on best practices for fostering employee engagement and creating a positive work environment.  
    • Conduct regular surveys and assessments to measure employee satisfaction, identify areas of concerns and track progress over time.  
    • Provide guidance and support to managers on effectively engaging their teams and creating a positive work environment. 

Scope and Travel:

    • No direct reports 
    • Travel as needed

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree required
    • 5+ years in an employee relations role
    • Previous experience in a nonprofit environment is a REAL plus
    • Experience with teaching, mentoring, coaching, and/or training is highly preferred
    • Work well in a fast-paced environment

Experience:

    • 10 + year’s experience in Human Resources
    • Substantial proven track record with employee relations experience, de-escalation, conflict resolution, and safeguarding
    • INGO experience
    • Experience in working in diverse cultural teams

Skills and Competencies:

    • Human Resources Certification Preferred
    • Technical savviness
    • Strong communication skills required; detailed reporting,
    • Strategic thinking
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills
$75,000 - $95,000 a year
In accordance with law, the expected pay range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
