As a Business Strategy Intern at Relief Compass, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing our organizational effectiveness and maximizing our impact. The candidate will work closely with our Strategy team to conduct research, analyze data, and provide insights that inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement across our programs and operations.

Responsibilities:

    • Market Research and Analysis:
    • Conduct research on domestic humanitarian trends, challenges, and best practices.
    • Analyze data and metrics related to humanitarian needs, funding sources, and stakeholder engagement.
    • Identify potential opportunities for innovation and growth within the nonprofit sector.
    • Analyze Pricing model for Relief Compass Solution

    • Strategic Planning:
    • Assist in the development and refinement of Relief Compass's strategic plan and goals.
    • Contribute to the creation of strategies to optimize program delivery, resource allocation, and impact measurement.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of strategic priorities.

    • Performance Evaluation:
    • Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of Relief Compass's programs and initiatives.
    • Collect and analyze programmatic data and feedback to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
    • Help develop strategies to enhance organizational performance and accountability.

    • Partnership Development:
    • Research potential partners, donors, and collaborators to support Relief Compass's mission and objectives.
    • Assist in the development of partnership proposals, presentations, and outreach materials.
    • Support relationship management efforts to cultivate and steward strategic partnerships.

    • Project Support:
    • Provide administrative and logistical support for strategic projects and initiatives.
    • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other materials for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and strategy discussions.

Qualifications:

    • Essential:
    • Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, International Development, or a related field.
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to synthesize complex information and draw actionable insights.
    • Passion for humanitarian work and a commitment to Relief Compass's mission and values.

Experience:

    • Previous experience or coursework in business strategy, nonprofit management, or development is preferred but not required.
    • Understanding of emergency response components, teams, and facilities; survivable communications systems; utility infrastructure; disaster damage assessment intelligence processing, situation analysis methods and risk assessment.

Skills and Competencies:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey ideas and information to diverse audiences.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and data analysis tools.
    • Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
    • Self-motivated, solutions driven, detail-oriented and organized.
$15 - $20 an hour
In accordance with CA law, the expected pay range for this CA position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
