POSITION SUMMARY
The DevOps Engineer will work collaboratively with software engineering to deploy and operate our systems. They will help automate and streamline our operations and processes, build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations as well as troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test and production. The DevOps Engineer identifies and optimizes the interdependencies between applications development and infrastructure operations through a collaborative approach to continuous delivery and monitoring.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Support continuous delivery pipelines for deploying fixes/features to dev, test, staging and production environments
- Build, publish and automate the deployment of releases to application environments
- Research and recommend new technologies and toolsets for the DevOps toolchain
- Monitor and tune the performance of the infrastructure Identify and correct bottlenecks in the system, while working with development teams on optimizations and best-practices
- Support integration of log management and APM solution to provide continuous monitoring capabilities, track all aspects of the system, infrastructure, performance, application errors and roll up metrics.
- Provide product support for escalated tickets from customer support and engineering teams
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
- 2+ years experience Amazon Web Services, including ECS, Fargate, EC2, Code Deploy, RDS, S3, Lambda, CloudFormation and IAM
- 1+ years experience working with Docker containers
- 2+ years experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python and/or PowerShell)
- Experience setting up and configuring application CI/CD tools like git, Jenkins, Octopus, Ansible, AWS Code Deploy, Artifactory
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as ELK or Datadog.
- Windows and Linux experience related to administration, security, configuration and monitoring.
- Experience with Azure or GCP is considered an asset
- Experience in a technical engineering role, such as software development, release management, deployment engineering, site operations, technical operations.
- Experience in Technology infrastructure, such as network, monitoring, systems, databases, etc.
- Note: Incumbent will work regular business hours, but may require evenings and weekends to complete projects, monitor system/network alerts or perform maintenance on systems.
