Online Community Manager

The Online Community Manager for Cory 2020 will develop a plan to manage and grow the online community of supporters, followers, and social media users on Cory’s channels. This individual would be responsible for creating a monthly strategic plan to locate and engage with users, respond to supporters and have conversations with advocates, and think about ways to connect with new people with the goal of making them feel connected to the campaign’s core message of unity. This individual would also be in charge of managing the campaign’s existing community ecosystem while thinking of ways to engage with voters/potential voters online.
Essential Functions and Percentage of Time:
Community Management (50%). Work with the Content Director and Content Strategist to:
- Manage and update outreach strategies as needed with the goal of creating audience/community retention on channels and increase in followers
- Curate user-generated content
- Brainstorm new and engaging ways to integrate community into content distribution
- Measure impact of strategy/growth of channels in weekly reports
Social Media, Response, and Ideation (50%). Work with the Content Director and Content Strategist to:
- Help draft copy for social media channels/push content live on channels
- Monitor breaking news, trends, and Cory’s notifications to respond in a timely manner
- Pitch creative content concepts to team weekly
- Familiar with digital and social media metrics/tools
- Highly organized
- Proven ability to engage, connect, and build an audience across platforms
- Strong knowledge of social media trends and products to enhance storytelling
- Proven record of developing and executing social media programs/campaigns

Compensation and Benefits.
Full-time, competitive salary including benefits such as 100%-employer-paid premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance for all staff, spouses/domestic partners, and their children; employer-paid premiums for life insurance for all staff; 20 accrued paid days off each year; 12 weeks of paid parental leave, and 12 days accrued paid sick leave.
