The Impact of a Payroll Manager at Coupa:

In this newly created role, the America’s Payroll Manager will take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing for the Americas. Your role will be multifaceted, requiring a blend of expertise in payroll management, compliance, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration across North America and Latin Americas. With operations spanning the US, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, and beyond, we are dedicated to delivering accurate and compliant payroll services to our regional workforce. 

What you will do:

    • End-to-End Payroll Management: Lead payroll processing from start to finish, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in every aspect
    • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the go-to resource for all United States payroll matters, including potential expansions and Employer of Record (EOR) considerations across the Americas
    • Compliance Vigilance: Stay abreast of payroll laws, regulations, and tax requirements across the Americas, ensuring all processes remain compliant
    • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline and automate payroll processes, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams across departments including People Ops, Legal, Finance, and others to communicate and implement payroll-related changes, policies, and procedures
    • Data Analysis and Reporting: Compile and analyze payroll data, producing regular reports for management and stakeholders, providing insights for decision-making
    • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Drive initiatives to enhance payroll operations, data integrity, and reporting capabilities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
    • System Enhancements: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system upgrades, implementations, and integrations related to payroll systems
    • Leadership in Problem-Solving: Provide leadership in addressing complex payroll issues and resolving escalations, ensuring top-notch customer service for all stakeholders

What you will bring to Coupa:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
    • At least 7-10 years of proven expertise in payroll, demonstrating proficiency in navigating complex payroll processes and ensuring compliance across multiple countries in the Americas
    • Extensive understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor legislation in the United States and various countries within the Americas region
    • Highly organized individual with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring precision in payroll calculations and data entry
    • Proficiency in payroll software and systems, ideally with experience in platforms such as Ceridian, Workday, or similar
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, adept at fostering productive relationships with cross-functional teams, employees, and external partners
    • Strong analytical prowess and creative problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
    • Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, including managing large datasets
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adept at adapting quickly to changes and effectively managing competing priorities
    • Demonstrated integrity and discretion, capable of handling confidential employee information and sensitive payroll data with the utmost care
The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

Based in California: $124,525 - 146,500

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
