The Impact of a Principal Engineer at Coupa:
You’ll lead the charge - defining and driving the architectural vision that powers our next-generation Autonomous Spend Management platform. You'll design intelligent, adaptive systems that help businesses optimize spend, streamline supplier collaboration, and operate with greater autonomy and scale.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the architecture and strategy for Coupa’s Pay platform, ensuring scalability and business alignment.
- Design and implement robust, high-performance idempotent distributed pay systems.
- Facilitate design reviews and development of scalable, reliable, micro services architecture.
- Establish best practices for micro services, orchestration, monitoring, and governance across all initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and drive innovation through cutting-edge technologies in big data, cloud, and AI/ML.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver secure, scalable solutions.
What You Will Bring:
- At least 10 years of experience with Ruby, Java, .NET, Python, or Go
- 8+ years of experience deploying scalable, containerized, distributed payment, procurement, and/or financial service platforms on a major cloud provider
- Experience as a Principal Engineer or Architect with a demonstrated ability to lead and mentor multiple engineering and product teams including other architects and directors.
- Strategize and deliver on company wide technical visions and process improvements to support key initiatives and business deliverables.
- Shepherds the new feature experience by acting as a Technical and Functional Subject Matter Expert with proven hands-on ability to improve all parts of the product design process.
- Unlock transformational capacity. Identify bottlenecks and deliver transformational improvements, frameworks, and patterns to empower individuals and teams to unlock their potential.
The estimated pay ranges for this role is as follows $218,875- 257,500
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
