The Impact of a Legal Counsel at Coupa :

As EMEA Legal Counsel you will be part of the EMEA commercial Legal team ( and of the broader global Coupa Legal team) providing legal support for Coupa’s growing business in EMEA in multiple global jurisdictions and will report directly to the Senior Director Legal EMEA. The successful applicant will work full-time remotely from their home office in EU and will have a breadth of responsibility as detailed below. 

What You'll Do:

    • Draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial documents, including non-disclosure agreements and master subscription agreements, to support sales in EMEA.
    • Resolve customer issues and handle daily legal service desk tickets by collaborating with internal teams and customer representatives.
    • Partner with other departments (e.g., finance, sales operations) to ensure all agreements comply with internal policies.
    • Develop and standardize legal documentation, including creating playbooks and guidelines, and assist with training business teams on relevant topics like data privacy and contracting processes.
    • Serve as a foundational legal expert on Coupa's products, SaaS offerings, and data protection policies.

What You Will Bring to Coupa:

    • A Master's Law Degree and fluency in English; additional fluency in Spanish, French, or German is highly desirable.
    • Previous experience or a strong interest in IT, Intellectual Property, or Data Privacy Law, preferably with prior in-house legal experience in the tech sector.
    • The ability to handle complex contractual issues and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent written/verbal communication, high-level negotiation, and legal drafting skills.
    • A service-oriented attitude with the desire to build and maintain strong relationships with internal clients and a talent for creative problem-solving.
