The Impact of the Lead Payroll Specialist - International Payroll  to Coupa:

Reporting to the Payroll Operations Manager - International, the Payroll Lead ensures the coordination of the processing for all international payrolls and is responsible for being the main point of contact for ensuring payroll activities are performed in a timely manner with an exceptional level of quality. The Payroll Lead will be the first level escalation point for employees with payroll related questions, responding to escalation queries from employee and manager inquiries and requests regarding payroll matters, timely, professionally and concisely.

In this role you will be:

    • Overseeing and assisting with the payroll processing for International payroll and assisting with the streamlining of the payroll process across all countries (inputs/outputs/journal entries & payments)
    • Coordinating the team schedules to ensure all international tasks are completed within the agreed timeframes with our payroll schedule and ensuring the team provide month end close by providing payroll reports and explanations as needed.
    • Applying knowledge of country tax regulations, as well as State taxes (where applicable), wage and hour laws, and local tax requirements to ensure compliance.
    • Managing the auditing process of the payroll to ensure all checklists are completed and all audits are fulfilled by the Payroll Specialists. Supporting various internal and external audits
    • Partnering with the HR team to ensure payroll data flows seamlessly between HR and Payroll and ensure changes are implemented correctly across various systems.
    • Acting as the system expert for Payroll, gathering any system limitations to then be provided to the Payroll Systems team as well as leading payroll related process improvement initiatives with cross functional partners.
    • Maintain payroll records and follow established Company policies to ensure compliance with internal control protocols.
    • Special projects and other duties as assigned, including system implementations, process improvement projects and compliance audits.

What will you bring to Coupa:

    • Proven experience in EMEA Payroll essential with recent hands-on payroll experience at a fast growth company. Strong knowledge of payroll protocols, tax and labor laws.
    • You are detail oriented & enjoy working with numbers, you seek to improve processes and aren’t afraid to voice your suggestions.You possess a strong collaborative approach and can build effective relationships with cross-functional departments to drive internal customer satisfaction and provide timely information to business owners, seeking to research and resolve issues and escalate to management as needed.
    • You have strong organizational and communication skills and can prioritize, plan, perform and communicate activities and findings both in written and verbal form with a proven ability to meet hard deadlines.  In addition experience managing complex projects is a plus
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration would be advantageous but not essential.
    • Report running experience with Ceridian Dayforce or similar as well as advanced level Excel skills, with proven ability to develop and generate ad hoc reports is essential.
    • Ability to maintain data confidentiality with a strong sense of professional integrity.
