Account Director

The Account Director brings industry expertise, valued insight and strategic practices to the firm and clients. The person in this role will serve as a mentor to Account Supervisors, providing senior client counsel as needed, oversee client strategy, guide client budgets and provide experiential insight confidently.

Account Strategy

    • Takes the lead in matters concerning client conflict and concerns

    • Serves as senior counsel for account strategy and high-level initiatives
    • Oversight of budgets to support team objectives and plans
    • Final reviewer of PR plans and project scopes before they are presented to clients

Media Relations

    • Educates account staff on best practices for relationship building and media/influencer relations
    • Seen as resident media expert in agency, having high-level contacts in every vertical, and is able to quickly get press results for any agency client that is in need
    • Can secure in-depth feature stories for clients in consumer, business and trade outlets


    • Oversees senior account staff in the successful management of their respective accounts
    • Empowers account staff to learn and continue polishing professional skills, including identifying those specific needs and areas for improvement, as well as various professional development programs specific to account staff
    • Strategizes, motivates, coaches and directs the account management staff in the performance of their roles
    • Coaches and advises junior and senior account staff with pitching to top tier media
    • Oversees team leads’ plans, budgets, strategy, and KPI’s to ensure alignment with client goals and expectations
    • Ensures team leads are following The Covet Way and are meeting client deadlines

Agency Development

    • Executes client retention strategy
    • Proactively seeks solutions for operational procedures such as organizational change, communications, information flow, etc.  


    • Has excellent written and presentation skills
    • Values opportunities to teach, motivate and coach others
    • Maintains accurate timesheets on a daily basis
    • Attend all manager meetings and agency-wide meetings

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
    • 7 - 10 years of professional experience in Public Relations, ideally in the CPG space

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

    • May require evening and weekend work, as needed
    • May require travel for work
    • May require extended periods of sitting, working in front of a computer
