SUMMARY:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Jira Administrator to take ownership of Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management environments for enterprise clients. In this leadership role, you will drive best practices, oversee governance, manage configurations, mentor junior team members, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable, and optimized Atlassian solutions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO AND YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead the configuration, customization, and administration of Jira Software, Confluence, and Jira Service Management (JSM).
    • Design and implement complex workflows, permission schemes, notification schemes, custom fields, and automation rules.
    • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions using Atlassian tools.
    • Enforce platform governance by defining standards, documentation, and usage policies across multiple teams.
    • Install, manage, and configure Atlassian Marketplace apps like ScriptRunner, Advanced Roadmaps, Insight/Assets, BigPicture, etc.
    • Troubleshoot issues and performance bottlenecks across Jira/Confluence ecosystems and recommend scalable solutions.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to other administrators and support junior team members in technical growth.
    • Ensure platform reliability, user access control, data integrity, and ongoing system health monitoring.
    • Deliver Jira/Confluence user and admin training sessions, and create help documentation and usage guidelines.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
    • 6+ years of hands-on experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, JSM), with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
    • Proficiency in installing and upgrading Atlassian applications in both clustered and non-clustered environments.
    • Strong experience in Atlassian Cloud administration, including site-level and org-level configurations.
    • Deep understanding of Jira administration including workflows, screen schemes, field configurations, project roles, and permission schemes.
    • Proven experience with Atlassian Cloud and/or Data Center environments, including migrations and version upgrades.
    • Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, and ITSM frameworks, and how they are implemented in Atlassian tools.
    • Hands-on experience configuring and supporting third-party integrations and Marketplace apps.
    • Familiarity with REST APIs, scripting (Groovy/ScriptRunner), and automation rules.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a consultative approach to solution design.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

CERTIFICATIONS:

    • Atlassian certifications (e.g., ACP-120, ACP-100, ACP-420) are highly preferred
