Beta Engineering is currently looking for a Safety Specialist to join our team in Pineville, Louisiana. The Safety Specialist supports training and implementation for all aspects of safety for office locations and active construction sites.  This position will need to implement policies as required; maintain official training materials, document files, and maintain company equipment/property. Other duties include assisting with training all employees, implementation/interpretation of safety programs, jobsite audits and inspections, construction management support, QA/QC support, and project management support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Supports safety oversight on all offices and construction projects. Carries out training and implementation of Beta's Safety, Health and Environmental Program (SHEP) and federal and state OSHA regulations. 
Performs safety audits at all office locations and all project site locations to document compliance.
Provide input on projected staffing safety training needs to meet future and active project requirements.
Supports revisions to Beta’s SHEP.
Compiles prequalification of subcontractor’s safety programs and safety performance.
Responsible for maintaining Beta Man-hour dashboard.
Provides evaluation of office and project safety needs, such as communications, office materials, job specific requirements, etc.
Create job specific safety requirements and provide site specific safety programs where required by the project specifications.
Provides increased support for projects with subcontractor safety issues.
Supports site safety to either project manager or construction manager to address site specific construction issues and bring resolution by either increased site presence or remote support from the office.
Provides safety supervision on specialized equipment installations.
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Three or more years of safety role supporting high voltage construction related experience or Bachelor’s Degree in related field with additional experience. Must be knowledgeable of safety aspects for general civil, structural, mechanical and electrical industries.
Must have knowledge of OSHA construction regulations.
Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Project
COSS or equivalent certification

COMPENSATION:
$54,882 - $108,395 per year

Salary range is estimated. Actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications and application of any geographic salary differential.
