DIS-TRAN Steel is looking for a skilled Hydraulics Mechanic to join the team at our Pineville, LA location. The Hydraulics Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing hydraulic systems on heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. This role requires a strong understanding of hydraulic principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.

- Ability to communicate with vendors and manufacturers of the equipment to help troubleshoot issues.

- Regular, reliable attendance is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on hydraulic systems and components to ensure proper functioning and prevent breakdowns.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic system issues, including pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, and hoses.
- Repair or replace defective hydraulic components and parts, ensuring all work is completed to high standards of quality and safety.
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals to understand system operations and identify issues.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members and plant personnel to coordinate repairs and minimize production disruptions.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the reliability and efficiency of hydraulic systems
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in hydraulics, mechanical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a hydraulics mechanic in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, components, and repair techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and technical manuals.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as needed.
