Responsibilities

    • Post transaction and performance improvement services
    • Serve clients within the “Office of the CFO” of private equity portfolio companies
    • Perform finance function performance assessments and create a framework to improve finance function effectiveness
    • Advise on accounting policy (purchase accounting including valuation issues, stock based and other equity compensation, debt and equity transactions, impairment, ASC606 revenue recognition, lease transactions, etc.)
    • Liaise with buy-side due diligence teams (M&A, outside counsel) as appropriate to ensure smooth transition to post-close period
    • Assist with various complex PE driven initiatives, including post-closing net working capital settlement, purchase accounting, accounting method changes (cash to accrual)

    • FP&A capabilities build-out
    • Provide guidance and leadership for financial reporting including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flow
    • Assist with leadership over client finance and/or accounting functions to include: accounting and operational process improvements, consolidation and reporting, financial reporting preparation, board and management reporting, and system strategy/selection (if needed)
    • Lead projects focused on creating automated financial and operational reporting solutions to meet the needs of PE sponsors and lenders

    • Client account management
    • Manage C-level relationships at portfolio company as well as representatives from Private Equity sponsors
    • Identify emerging client needs and opportunities to bring in different CrossCountry service lines, including Business Transformation and Technology Solutions
    • Proactively network across service lines to identify and bring in the experts needed to address client needs, scope and clarify the opportunity and deliver superior service
    • Advocate on behalf of clients and represent clients' needs as appropriate to leadership
    • Work/liaise cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes

    • Business development
    • Understand key industry/technical developments and trends and articulate how clients will be affected
    • Assist with expanding relationships within client organization with Business Development and Networking in mind
    • Assist with generating leads from a network outside of existing client work

    • Practice development
    • Responsible for project team(s) technical and functional development and performance management
    • Serve as a role model, supervisor, coach, and mentor to Managing Consultants, Senior Consultants and Consultants both on projects and within coaching families. This includes being a champion for the firm in our community, within the market, with recruits, and with employees to attract and retain our people
    • Participate in advancing the firm through committees and internal initiatives such as recruiting, business development, marketing, and knowledge sharing
    • Willingness to travel up to 40% in the USA

Ideal Skills and Qualifications

    • 8+ years of experience working in a client facing role at a top-tier public accounting firm and/or consulting firm 
    • Experience at a Big Four or equivalent firm. This background is a critical differentiator among interested candidates 
    • Experience working with Private Equity, with an understanding of the unique requirements of the Private Equity consulting environment  
    • In depth knowledge of accounting standards (US GAAP and/or IFRS) and the ability to advise/research complex technical accounting and transaction issues 
    • Proven track record as an influential change agent, championing, organizing and successfully and efficiently executing new ideas and initiatives 
    • Confident and self-aware.  Ability to use appropriate communication style for various levels across the organization 
    • Strong bias for thoughtful action, highly relationship-oriented, accomplishes work with, and through, others via purposeful collaboration 
    • Mentoring and people development capabilities 
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills including comfort with executive audiences 
    • Excellent strategic planning and operational deployment skills; able to translate vision and strategy into clear efficient successes with a strong attention to detail 
    • Critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and solve complex problems  
    • Ability to advance numerous projects in parallel through thoughtful project management and provide strategic direction to team members
    • Creativity, confidence, and flexibility 
    • High energy, enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial spirit
    • Great sense of humor!
