In this position, reporting to the Managing Partner of the Private Equity service line, you will serve as an integral member of our leadership team, driving the continued expansion of our Private Equity practice. We collaborate closely with PE Sponsors to provide comprehensive support for portfolio companies, addressing their accounting, finance, and technological requirements. Our aim is to enact impactful operational enhancements throughout the investment life cycle, optimizing ROI and uncovering avenues for value augmentation.

Your responsibilities in this role encompass:

Practice Leadership

    • Serve as a key leader of the Private Equity practice by setting, guiding, and directing strategic initiatives
    • Account Management: Cultivate new private equity relationship connections and expand existing client relationships, have a solid understanding of clients’ business, and ensure quality of deliverables and satisfaction on engagements
    • Coaching and Development: Serve as a role model, mentor, and liaison for others; provide coaching and training opportunities for team members leveraging individual skills and the firm’s people-first culture
    • Motivate and Support: Manage project teams by guiding performance against objectives, creating an atmosphere of trust and collaboration, modeling leadership behaviors, and encouraging continuous innovation
    • Recruiting and Retention: Take an active role in attracting, interviewing, hiring and retaining top talent
    • Thought Leadership: Share technical expertise through various mediums such as case studies and white papers

Client Delivery

    • Provide high-quality consulting services by taking ownership for delivering on technical requirements of client engagements that are fact-driven and solution-oriented
    • Partner with our clients and delivery teams, including subject matter experts across the firm, to enable, lead, and manage various deliverables such as OCFO assessments & roadmaps, acquisition accounting, reporting/FP&A optimization, 13-week cash flows, purchase accounting, working capital true-ups, close process optimization, accounting support, M&A integration, data strategy, organizational assessment/realignment, system implementations, quality of earnings, buy- and sell-side due diligence
    • Manage client accounts, projects, and engagements, including work plans, staffing, deadlines, and budgets throughout all lifecycle and maintaining an integrated project plan
    • Supervise execution teams, providing senior project leadership and managing evolving client management needs for operational and change initiatives

Business Development

    • Actively pursue business development opportunities and market CrossCountry’s full range of services to prospective clients, as well as using existing relationships to generate new opportunities
    • Collaborate with the dedicated Business Development Director for the Private Equity practice to generate new opportunities
    • Foster a culture of growth and a business development mindset across the Private Equity practice

What You'll Bring:

    • 15-20+ years of relevant experience advising PE Sponsors and/or their portfolio investments in either due diligence, technical and/or operational accounting, reporting/FP&A, finance transformation, business process improvement, finance and accounting tech stack, and transactions (e.g. M&A, divestitures, spin-off, carve-out, IPO, etc.).
    • Prior experience in professional services (public accounting or advisory firm), preferably at a large, global accounting firm or with a management consulting firm

Qualifications:

    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), CA, or CFA
    • Demonstrated track record of establishing credibility both internally and externally
    • Proven leader with the ability to foster an environment of collaboration and excellence
    • Passionate about building, developing, motivating, and leading others
    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to think from a “big picture” perspective
    • Willingness to travel domestically up to 40%
