CrossFit is looking to hire an Athlete Communications Manager to join our SPORT team. You will be responsible for communicating with and supporting, athletes throughout the year and onsite during the CrossFit Games. As a member of the Competition Team, you will also assist with competition planning and review as well as live and online competition results finalization. The role also is responsible for “The Hopper” publication, drives the continued development and day-to-day operations of the Divisional Athlete Committees and Athlete Advisory Council, and is the Sport point of contact to external athlete groups (i.e, PFAA). There is a close working relationship between this position, Sport Operations, the Content Team, and the Publishing Team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Develop an athlete communications strategy focused on improving transparency and increasing trust between CrossFit and athletes of all abilities. Establish, and manage, an athlete communication calendar and lead the continuous improvement of athlete communications.
● Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for Divisional Athlete Committees (DAC), the Athlete Advisory Committee, and external athlete groups (e.g., PFAA, etc.).
● Support competition operations to include planning, implementation, and evaluation of virtual and live events to include programming consultation, competition assets review, and review/results finalization.
● Assist Games Team with seasonal objectives for virtual and live events
● Lead all athlete communications and logistics onsite during the Finals.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL:
● Ability to clearly communicate to target audiences in written and verbal formats
● Working knowledge of SalesForce and/or other CRM systems.
● Ability to work effectively without complete operational knowledge, and to protect secret details while leading or assisting on special projects
● Keen attention to detail with strong organizational skills and proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
● CrossFit Level-1 Certificate
● Minimum of five years’ experience within the CrossFit sport ecosystem (ex. judging, seminar staff, publishing, writing for external media outlets, and/or onsite event experience, etc.) Working knowledge of CrossFit live event operational requirements. Leadership and communications experience in a dynamic fast paced environment.
Compensation: 85k-95k plus bonus
