CrossFit is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our rapidly growing technology team. This role will architect new platforms and improve existing infrastructure while establishing best practices. The position will have a high level of autonomy and a huge impact day to day.
This is an unique opportunity to build new products in an exciting health focused environment.
Applicants should be based in the North American time zones.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Lead efforts to formalize infrastructure with infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation
● Establish best practices for security and roles in AWS
● Help in efforts to containerize existing codebases, including containerizing a PHP layer currently running on AMI/EC2
● Work with Software Engineers to plan and deploy new applications, including setting up CI/CD pipelines and developer tools
● Improve existing CI/CD pipelines by replacing or updating existing processes
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL:
● Demonstrated history of affecting change at an organizational level regarding the way people, processes, and technology
● Extensive knowledge of AWS services, including RDS, S3, Cloudfront, API Gateway, Lambda, ECS and EC2
● Working knowledge of Terraform or CloudFormation, Jenkins and Github Actions, or similar CI/CD tools
● History of database administration with standard relational databases such as MySQL
● Strong command of AMI management and EC2 orchestration
● Several years of scripting knowledge, including Bash
● Deep understanding of not only S3 bucket permission management, IAM user and role best practices, but also strong command of least access privilege model within the context of development organizations.
● Extensive knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, PCI, and experience administering/architecting systems that are able to accomplish business goals while managing risk and reducing litigation exposure.
● Experience with API gateway vs. Cloudfront deployment in serverless application architecture
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
● BS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Or equivalent work experience
● 4+ years relevant work experience
● History of creating platforms and solutions in AWS
Compensation: 125k-175k plus bonus DOE
