The Opportunity: 
As CCI’s first Director of Regulatory Affairs, US, you will lead the development and advancement of CCI’s advocacy goals in the area of US regulation. Reporting to the CEO, you will set the organization’s advocacy strategies, develop positions and papers, analyze regulatory developments, and represent the organization with regulators at both the federal and state/local level. In this role, you will work collaboratively with a diverse, international community of Partners to translate research into evidence-based information for regulators and related parties. You will ensure that our insights and research are shared with regulators across the United States and with the public at large.


    • Together with the CEO, drive CCI’s regulatory agenda, beginning with a focus on US federal agencies 
    • Build and maintain relationships with pertinent stakeholders across government, CCI’s private sector and other partners, and the broader responsible crypto ecosystem 
    • Lead CCI’s Regulatory Working Group 
    • Monitor, interpret, and analyze US regulatory developments as well as emerging topics in the media, in order to develop CCI’s capacity to assess issues in order to proactively take positions on pertinent issues and topics 
    • Identify opportunities for CCI to engage with civil society to promote the development of effective regulation 
    • Collaborate closely with the Director of Policy and the CCI research team to develop outputs that educate and inform relevant audiences, including Partners and other stakeholders 
    • Organize and participate in multi-stakeholder convenings to gather information and multiple perspectives 
    • Work with the Director of Communications to develop materials for outreach, publicize our work through both media relations and thought leadership development 
    • Support the creation of a globally-diverse and inclusive Partner community 
    • Work with the Director of Operations to oversee operational activities, including monitoring and evaluating goals, budget, human resources and CCI’s organization-wide plan to embed diversity, equity and inclusion in all activities 
    • Present to the Board and lead the development of materials for reporting to CCI’s Board of Directors as needed 
    • Coordinate response by CCI to external stakeholders on regulatory matters
    • Serve as a representative of CCI on various platforms on related topics 

About You

    • Interested candidates should have worked in or closely with one or more relevant US regulatory agencies, with 10+ years of relevant experience 
    • Extensive knowledge of financial regulations and guidance as well as strong knowledge of data regulations and practices
    • Demonstrated leadership and success in management of regulatory activities with a proven track record of effective collaboration with federal regulatory agencies on issues closely or directly related to crypto
    • Extensive experience analyzing and interpreting legislative and regulatory language 
    • Demonstrated ability to work across sectors and develop cross-sector collaborations 
    • Track record of developing and growing relationships with stakeholders from a wide range of backgrounds and points of view 
    • Relationship and consensus-building skills, including experience working with or managing coalitions; comfort working with both experts and novices; strong listening skills 
    • Superior research skills; ability to quickly and accurately pull key facts or statistics to support a broader position, tied to strong and accurate sourcing 
    • Ability to independently set priorities to meet timelines, to motivate and influence others; prior people management experience a plus
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
    • A passion for crypto/web3 and eagerness to learn 
    • The ability to travel as needed
