We are looking for an experienced, motivated and collaborative Senior Physics Programmer to become a member of the CRYENGINE team in a cooperative, cross-disciplinary environment.

You would maintain and improve our physics code and integrate third-party solutions.

Responsibilities:

    • Overlook the maintenance and extension of the existing physics framework and tools.
    • Evaluate and integrate alternative third-party solutions such as PhysX, considering their suitability for the project's requirements.
    • Collaborate closely with designers, artists, and programmers to enhance the physics system, providing support in its application and tuning.
    • Design and develop advanced features, ensuring seamless integration with existing physics, animation, and AI systems.
    • Strategize and plan development activities in coordination with project management, considering resource allocation and timelines.
    • Write clear, maintainable, and robust code, adhering to established coding standards and best practices.
    • Conduct comprehensive testing, debugging, optimization, and documentation of implemented features.
    • Mentor and guide junior members of the physics programming team, fostering their growth and knowledge acquisition.
    • Test, debug, optimize and document your implementations.

Requirements:

    • 5+ years of programming experience in game physics development.
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
    • Proficiency in C++ programming, demonstrating advanced skills and knowledge.
    • Strong background in software engineering and proven debugging capabilities.
    • Excellent understanding of 3D mathematics and its application in game development.
    • Expertise in rigid-body dynamics, collision response, and simulations, particularly within the context of game development.
    • Experience with SIMD, vector math development, optimizations
    • Ability to quickly comprehend and master a large existing code base.
    • Aptitude for researching and learning new techniques, adapting them to meet project requirements.
    • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate efficiently on shared projects with animators, artists, designers, testers, and fellow developers.

Pluses:

    • Game development experience, including having shipped a PC or console title.
    • Familiarity with third-party physics engines such as PhysX, Havok or ISPC.
    • Experience with multi-threading.
    • Proficient in Xbox One and PS4 programming.
    • Background in profiling, low-level optimizations, and resolving stability issues.
