Veeam Backup Administrator

CSA+Capstone is seeking a Veeam Backup Administrator who will be responsible for managing the company's backup systems on premises and in the cloud to ensure disaster recovery.

Responsibilities

    • Managing backup systems, including troubleshooting failed jobs and running make-up jobs as necessary on a daily basis
    • Monitoring backup jobs and alerts to ensure that backups are valid and occurring on a desired frequency
    • Managing tape rotations and storage allocation both on premises and in the cloud
    • Maintaining, updating and documenting the company disaster recovery and business continuity plans, including new acquisitions when necessary
    • Conducting analysis of company systems to determine risks and implement disaster recovery best practices
    • Scheduling, managing, and conducting backup testing and disaster recovery plan testing on a frequent basis
    • Ensuring compliance with departmental policies (i.e., change management, security standards, release management, incident management)
    • Setup and configure Veeam on server/client . 
    • Monitor daily Veeam activity and reporting to proactively avoid issues Modify and optimize backup schedules. 
    • Improve automation and productivity of backups through scripting enhancements. 
    • Troubleshoot and resolve missed and failed Veeam backups. 
    • Interface with vendors for escalation of issues
    • Update Veeam policies and procedures. 
    • Good Knowledge on handing virtual infrastructure and VM s. Must have good knowledge with Vmware and HyperV .
    • Good skills on performance optimization.
    • Solving complicated Hardware cases and Liaising with Hardware Vendor/ Veeam support

Qualifications

    • IT support experience, particularly in a server-based environment
    • Experience with Windows OS, MacOS, and/or Linux OS
    • Experience working as a backup administrator or DR analyst 
    • Experience with Veeam backup software or other comparable platforms
    • Experience with SANs or other storage systems
    • Active Secret clearance
    • High School Diploma or equivalent

    • Specialist I 
    • Years of Experience: 10 
    • General Experience: Experience in one or more of the following; Systems testing, personnel management systems, educational and training systems, project management, Electronic Documentation. 
    • Certifications: IA Contractor Training and Certification and Computing Environment (CE) certification may be required at the task order level. 

    • Specialist II 
    • Years of Experience: 8 
    • General Experience: Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, Electronic Documentation. 
    • Specific Experience:  Experience in one or more of the following; DEERS Application/Function, Personnel, Education, and Training system knowledge may be required at the task order level. 
    • Certifications: IA Contractor Training and Certification and Computing Environment (CE) certification may be required at the task order level. 

    • Specialist III 
    • Years of Experience: 6 
    • General Experience: Electronic Documentation, System Administration, Network Administration, Database Administration  
    • Certifications: IA Contractor Training and Certification and Computing Environment (CE) certification may be required at the task order level. 

    • Specialist IV 
    • Years of Experience: 3 
    • General Experience: Electronic Documentation, System Administration, Network Administration, Database Administration  
    • Certifications: IA Contractor Training and Certification and Computing Environment (CE) certification may be required at the task order level.  

Preferred Qualifications

    • VMware and/or other virtualization technologies 
    • AWS, Azure and/or other cloud infrastructure 
    • Bachelor's degree
The likely salary range for this position is $60,000 - $85,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
