The Operations Manager is crucial for overseeing the daily operations of our fulfillment services, ensuring that we meet and exceed the expectations set by our partnership with ShipBob. This role involves managing inventory, order processing, shipping, receiving, and maintaining adherence to both safety and operational standards. We are looking for a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership abilities to optimize processes, solve problems, and lead our team towards achieving operational excellence. 

What you get to do every day:

    • Daily Operations: 
    • Conduct a start-of-day review of SLA status for all orders and Jira Tickets, assessing staffing and daily priorities. 
    • Utilize various operational tools, including ToolBob WMS and Appointment Plus, for planning and execution. 
    • Strategize for incoming shipments and workload, ensuring compliance with SLAs. 
    • Prioritize expedited orders, batch orders, and VAS/B2B department needs effectively. 
    • Maintain clear communication with the team and other departments via meetings, Slack, and email. 
    • Leadership and Management: 
    • Lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team of supervisors and warehouse staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. 
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and development opportunities. 
    • Process Improvement: 
    • Implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, quality, and productivity. 
    • Monitor key operational metrics and reports, identifying areas for improvement. 
    • Compliance and Safety: 
    • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. 
    • Promote a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. 
    • Weekly and Monthly Reviews: 
    • Review previous performance metrics, prepare for business reviews with regional leadership, and strategize staffing based on forecasted needs. 

What you bring to the role:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred. 
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management within a fulfillment, logistics, or warehouse environment. 
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team. 
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, warehouse management systems, and specific ShipBob operational tools (e.g., ToolBob WMS, Appointment Plus). 
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred. 
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering a collaborative team environment. 

Compliance and Safety:

    • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, including strict compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and standards. 
    • Promote a safe and healthy work environment for all employees by rigorously following safety protocols and encouraging a culture of safety awareness. 
    • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and training sessions to ensure a safe working environment and to minimize workplace hazards.
