As an AWS Cloud / Devops Engineer, you will collaborate with cross functional teams to meet the goal of faster delivery, secure by design, end to end automation, cost reduction and greater overall business success. A key part of the role is championing and leading infrastructure as code effort.
Your day to day responsibilities will include:
- Build and extend with some of the tool chains we work with such as AWS (ie: Lambda, ElastiCache, CloudFront, CodePipeline, SSM), ansible, and shell scripts
- Further enhance our release pipelines, monitoring, alerting and automated system recovery
- Work to identify areas of the architecture without redundancy, and work to improve reliability
- Develop tools, alarms, and systems to identify issues on front-ends and back-ends, as soon as they happen
- Work with business stakeholders to develop uptime and SLA requirements, and work to get overall system uptime inline with engineering SLAs
- Troubleshoot problems across a wide array of services and functional areas
- Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization
- Mentor other members of the engineering team in performance, scalability, and engineering best practices
Our Ideal Candidate:
- 7+ years of experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, Security Groups, IAM, ECS, CodeDeploy, CloudFront, S3)
- Hands-on experience deploying and managing infrastructure with Cloudformation, Ansible or Terraform is a plus
- Experience working with microservice based architectures
- Experience working with CI/CD, continuous testing, monitoring and alerting tools
- Believe in finding the best solution, not just one that works
- Have attained an AWS Certification, or would like to be sponsored to take an exam for one
