Mobile device manufacturers and application developers are releasing new devices and apps at a fast pace. Analysis of mobile vulnerabilities and malware, and testing of new vulnerability discovery and anti-malware detection and mitigation techniques across a wide variety of configurations have become increasingly complex.

This project aims to develop software tools to aid in the testing and analysis of vulnerabilities and malware, as well as emerging vulnerability discovery and anti-malware techniques across different Android or iOS device models, OS versions and applications.

Scope & Deliverables - Develop tools to

    • Simulate user activity that may trigger vulnerabilities or malicious activity
    • Detect abnormal or malicious events on the device
    • Automate analysis of such events and highlight critical issues for deeper analysis

Prerequisites/Skills Required

    • Strong interest in mobile device security
    • Basic Python and C/C++ Programming
    • Experience in mobile application development would be an advantage
    • Applicant should indicate preference in Android or iOS (if any)
