Project Overview/Background

    • Study how a Linux-malware works and demonstrate understanding
    • Implement a detection tool for a specified malware

Scope & Deliverables

    • Research at least 1 Linux malware and survey commonly used functional techniques for that malware to accomplish its goals
    • Develop a simple detection tool for the malware
    • Present research findings and demonstration of the detection tool

Prerequisites/Skills Required

    • Basic C Programming
    • Basic understanding of Operating Systems (preferably Linux)
    • Comfortable in troubleshooting / debugging software
