We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated UAV Engineer to join our growing engineering team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and testing of fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for our state-of-the-art autonomous systems. This position requires a versatile engineer with a strong background in aerospace engineering, aircraft design, and hands-on UAV prototyping.
Key Responsibilities:
•Design and develop fixed-wing UAV systems, ensuring optimal aerodynamic performance and reliability.
•Integrate on-board computers (i.e., NVIDIA Jetson), antennas, sensors, cameras, and other electronic components into UAV systems.
•Custom design and fabricate airframes and structural components using advanced manufacturing techniques, including 3D printing.
•Create detailed 3D CAD models and technical drawings for prototyping and production.
•Perform soldering and wiring of electrical components.
•Collaborate with software engineers, system architects, and other team members to ensure seamless hardware-software integration.
•Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of UAV systems to identify and resolve issues.
•Stay updated with the latest advancements in aerospace and drone technologies and apply relevant innovations to enhance our products.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
•Proven experience in UAV development, preferably in the defense or aerospace industry.
•Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
•Strong skills in 3D printing, soldering, and electrical wiring.
•Experience with integrating on-board computers (e.g., NVIDIA Jetsons) and antennas.
•Familiarity with embedded systems and microcontrollers.
•Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
•Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
•Strong communication skills and the ability to document and present technical information clearly.
Preferred Skills:
•Experience with fixed-wing UAV design and testing.
•Knowledge of RF systems and antenna design.
•Understanding of thermal management and ruggedization for electronic systems.
•Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance in the defense industry.
