Cytera is hiring a Business Development Representative who will play a vital role in making Cytera a category leader in cell culture automation. Your primary responsibility will be to identify and engage biotech and pharmaceutical companies that carry out cell culture to support their research. This role sits within our Sales function and you will report directly to the COO and Co-Founder. This role is a perfect way to break into or further develop a career in sales and high growth technology startups.
We are open to applicants who are interested in working remotely as well as r being based in London. Ideally on-boarding will happen in London for the first 2 months however we will be flexible on this given the changing travel restrictions. This role may involve travel to London and the US on occasions.
Activities and responsibilities:
Lead generation and prospecting (40%)
You will independently lead on identifying companies that would benefit from using Cytera’s automation based on their pipeline, product offering and research activities. You will use a broad array of tools and networks to source leads.
You will work directly with the founders to iterate on messaging and iterating on Cytera’s ideal customer profile.
Engaging leads (50%)
You will lead on making first contact with outbound and inbound leads and help drive interest and excitement all with a personalised and scientific style. Your mission is to convert these leads into first calls and web demonstrations with our COO.
Data management and reporting (5%)
Ensuring our CRM (Hubspot) is a single source of truth and also reporting key figures to help analyse sales performance.
Strategy and optimisation (5%)
You’ll work directly with the founders to report on and analyse sales performance with a view of optimising processes and individual performance.

This is the first sales role Cytera is hiring for. For the right candidate there will be the opportunity to be promoted to a Business Development Manager position within 6 to 12 months which will offer significant opportunities to grow professionally and generate commission based on closed business.
- A scientific background or demonstrated experience quickly in understanding new markets i.e a consulting background
