About the Role
We are seeking a rockstar VP of Sales to lead all sales, bookings, and revenue aspects of the company. This critical role will report directly to the CEO and work hand-in-hand with the leadership team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for both closing deals, managing the sales team, and presenting at board meetings. This position is pivotal to Cyvl's success and growth in disrupting the transportation infrastructure market.

Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive growth and achieve revenue targets.
    • Actively engage in selling activities, including prospecting, closing deals, and managing key client relationships.
    • Lead, manage, and mentor a small but growing sales team currently consisting of four sales reps, each with a ~$1M quota.
    • Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline, implementing processes and tools to track and optimize sales performance.
    • Identify and pursue new market opportunities, maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and customers.
    • Engage with top-tier clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
    • Work closely with other executives and departments (e.g., Marketing, Product, Engineering) to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
    • Monitor sales metrics and KPIs, providing regular reports and insights to the executive team using data-driven approaches for informed decision-making.

Requirements

    • 10+ years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within an early-stage tech startup, preferably in enterprise hardware/software or SaaS.
    • Proven record of achieving and exceeding sales targets, with demonstrated success in building and scaling sales teams.
    • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team to achieve exceptional results.
    • Excellent strategic and analytical thinking skills, with the ability to develop and execute sales strategies aligned with business goals.
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal teams.
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
    • Ability to think both systematically and adaptively.

    • Proficiency in handling diverse communication styles.
    • Demonstrates thorough preparation and understanding of the company.

    • Proficient in gathering necessary information for decision-making, running effective staff meetings, managing actions and promises, and systematically gaining knowledge about the organization, customers, and market.
    • Comprehensive understanding of the business and technical sales processes, with the ability to enforce and ensure team adherence.
    • Experience in designing and implementing effective sales training programs, including detailed process and product training with supporting materials.

$200,000 - $400,000 a year
Base salary starting at $200,000 + sales commission, annual bonus based on company performance, and early stage employee stock options.
