Research Analysts play a critical role in delivering differentiated investment insights and actionable recommendations to institutional clients within the Technology Sector, focus on Semis and Hardware. They conduct in-depth analysis of publicly traded companies and industry sectors, leveraging advanced financial modeling, proprietary research techniques, and direct company engagement. Analysts are integral to the publication of high-impact research reports and thematic pieces, and are expected to develop sector expertise, maintain financial models, and contribute meaningfully to client discussions and investment debates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; STEM degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of combined direct experience in equity research, investment analysis, or relevant work in the semi industry.
- Proven ability to independently initiate and maintain coverage on a broad set of publicly traded companies, with the expectation to roll out coverage on up to 10 stocks within the first year.
- Strong foundation in accounting and finance, with demonstrated expertise in financial modeling and valuation techniques.
- Highly motivated, intellectually curious, and adaptable in a fast-paced, analytical environment.
- Passion for capital markets and a deep interest in developing differentiated investment insights.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Duties:
- Lead the development of differentiated, actionable investment research for institutional clients, including bold stock calls and thematic insights.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends, industry dynamics, and company fundamentals to build sector expertise and support investment theses.
- Create, maintain, and refine detailed financial models; synthesize data into compelling charts, tables, and written commentary.
- Publish high-quality research reports and initiate coverage on up to 15 publicly traded companies within the first year.
- Serve as a key point of contact for institutional clients, engaging in regular dialogue with portfolio managers, analysts, and traders.
- Collaborate closely with Sales & Trading to communicate research views and respond to client inquiries.
- Mentor and guide Research Associates, providing oversight on modeling, research processes, and professional development.
- Represent the firm at industry conferences, corporate access events, and management meetings.
$125,000 - $175,000 a year
The potential base pay hiring range for this role is $125,000 to $175,000 per year. The compensation offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis considering a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the skills, relevant work experience, and geographic location of each specific candidate.
This role is eligible to participate in applicable D.A. Davidson variable compensation programs and is production-based.
