Software Engineer II - Summary and Function
D.A. Davidson is looking for a Software Engineer II to join our Information Technology Team. This position will focus on a wide range of development projects, including Web/Presentation, N-Tier Architecture, Design and Development. This position will also work closely with Data Engineers to support data integrations. Core duties include software design, code development, scripting, testing, quality assurance, and maintaining strict adherence to D.A. Davidson’s SDLC framework. Potential systems and languages include C#, JavaScript, Python, Web Services, Transact SQL. This position will work with an extended Application Development team to support & maintain application security, cross-platform integration, and application development.

Qualifications:

    • College diploma or university degree in Computer Science.
    • 4+ years of practical experience as an application developer.
    • Experience working with Agile frameworks.
    • Good knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
    • Strong understanding of code repositories and continuous integration.
    • Working knowledge of programming languages and frameworks including, but not limited to: C#, .Net, NodeJS, Python, REST, MS SQL.
    • Experience working with Object-oriented analysis and design.
    • Ability to follow and understand IT standards and procedures, such as change management, QA/UAT testing, and security controls.
    • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to effectively address and resolve problems in a timely manner.
    • Highly self-motivated and directed with a keen attention to detail.
    • Work with third-party vendors while managing aggressive timelines.
    • Ability to proactively work with both external and internal clients; relate with others in a professional manner to accomplish work responsibilities and objectives.
    • Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance.

Duties:

    • Participate in the development and support of business applications with an emphasis on operation and administration.
    • Develop new or modify existing simple to complex applications from detailed specifications.
    • Code, test, debug, document, and maintain those applications.
    • Participate in scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective
    • Aid in resolving application issues in a timely fashion.
    • Expectation to provide production support during weekend and off-hours.
    • Willing to periodically work flexible hours to work with resources in global time zones.
    • Assist with the repair and diagnosis of workflow and database discrepancies. Follow through to resolution.
    • Update and troubleshoot issues with third-party integrations. Follow through until resolved.
    • Perform any other duties as assigned to include providing support for coworkers.
    • Perform peer code reviews.

$75,000 - $95,000 a year
The potential base pay hiring range for this role is $75,000 - $95,000. The compensation offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis considering a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the skills, relevant work experience, and geographic location of each specific candidate.
