We are looking for…
A Hazardous Waste Coordinator to provide knowledge and support to our Sturtevant business unit. Training will be provided to a motivated, highly organized individual.
Role Overview
The Hazardous Waste Coordinator is the resident expert for hazardous materials at the Sturtevant Daniels Building. They are expected to be accurate and knowledgeable from beginning to end of our Hazardous Waste processes as well as governmental regulations. The Coordinator must be an excellent communicator and regularly communicate with internal teams, external hazardous waste partners, and occasionally customers. They are also expected to ensure compliance in all procedures. It is also expected that the Coordinator will drive improvements to the various processes that improve efficiency and accuracy while safeguarding safety and compliance.
What you will do
- Assist Daniels Health team members with their hazardous waste questions.
- Report, investigate and resolve (where applicable) customer requests and complaints via Salesforce ensuring a high degree of accuracy and timeliness in reporting and issue escalation
- Maintain and update filing, inventory and database systems (both manual and computer processes)
- Audit driver paperwork and properly demark containers.
- Complete of all regulatory and customer processes in a timely manner.
- Audit all waste received from business unit, ensuring accuracy and compliance of labelling, inventory, and waste segregation.
- Move and segregate Waste to correct areas of the plant.
- Recognize and analyze opportunities for improvement, work closely with the National Hazardous Waste Specialist to drive results.
- Prompt communication with plant management in the event of service issues.
- Maintain and update hazardous container inventory and coordinate ordering of labels.
- Practice job with a reverence for the environment and safety.
What we are looking for
- 1 year of experience in Customer Service/Administrative role
- Willingness to be hands on in plant operations
- Industry experience within operational environments and production platforms is ideal
- Intermediate Microsoft office skills to be able to efficiently report
- Salesforce experience is preferred but not required
- Proven experience within process improvement
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
