What you’ll do
The Solution Architect (Network Presales)  is the orchestrator of technology solutions, primarily responsible for being the liaison between customers (viewed by the customer as a consultant) and Datacom Professional Services (PS) and IT Operational (ITO) teams (viewed by the operational teams as a technical champion) across Datacom’s broad network offerings. The Solution architect will work closely with local sales and customer advocacy teams, and be involved in presales activities as well as be required to participate as a subject matter expert in bid or tender engagements.  There will also be time when they will be involved in the delivery of high level consulting services in the solution architecture realm, specifically focussed on the delivery of technology related consulting engagements using Datacom’s consulting methodology and solution building blocks.
 
Focussed on both net new and strategic accounts, Solution architects are required to not only drive increased revenue share from Datacom’s incumbent accounts, but also provide ongoing consulting delivery work or EA work that demonstrates sound ROI on their placement in these account(s). This ROI can take the form of new or changed services composition and / or additional implementation / migration revenue for the centralised Solution team(s). Commercial / financial acumen and an understanding of Solution economics (“architecting for cost”) is highly desirable.
 
As the Solution architect you will play a key role in the delivery of Solution consulting and migration engagements, you will thrive on Presales and love the chase and customer engagement. The state-based Solution architect represents Datacom’s AU/NZ Solution practice to our customers and serve as a client champion and specialist, working to deliver consulting engagements to help customers outline their journey to cloud in any form.
 
What you’ll bring
Having had a minimum of 10 year IT experience coupled with Tertiary IT degree qualification and Industry recognised architectural certification (TOGAF, COBIT, ArchiMate etc.) alongside your Network certifications in CCNA, CCNP, CCDA etc you will have excellent Pre Sales ability and thrive on doing so.  You will be an expert and have hands-on experience in the delivery of sizable network projects. Coupled with extensive experience with routing/switching, Voice, Wireless – Wireless surveys - WiFi deployments, Firewall – security filtering, Load balancing, Telecommunications, SD-WAN/ WAN Optimization, Changing Internet Service Providers or implementing diverse ISP strategies, Changing Wide Area Network providers or upgrading and architecting WANs, Moving from fixed telephony services to video- or voice-over-internet services.  Prior experience with Hybrid cloud, HDL, LDL, Strategy, SDN is highly advantageous.
 
With a proven technical track record in Solution Architecture and/or technical sales.  You will need business knowledge (corporate structure, ROI, TCO, budget and planning strategy etc.), be proven self-ownership of personal training and development.  You will live and breathe technology.  Currently working in the Professional Services background as this is a must to be successful in this role.  If this sounds like you then apply now!
