As the Sr. Manager, Banking and Payment Operations at Dave, you will join Dave’s platform team and lead our payments and banking platform operations from both merchant acquisition and debit card issuing sides to support Dave’s credit and banking products. You will be responsible for our banking and payment platform's performance and quality. You will work closely with internal and external partners to ensure scalability and efficiency in our operations and compliance with regulatory requirements and contractual obligations. You will use your prior experience to identify and drive improvement opportunities to improve the experience we provide to our customers.

What you'll do:

    • Responsible for the day-to-day operations management of Dave’s payment and banking platform on both merchant and card issuing sides that powers billions of transactions. 
    • Be an essential contributor to Dave’s payment and banking platform strategy and help define our platform objectives and key results. 
    • Lead continuous improvement efforts of our platform and partnerships, including cost, performance, and reporting with regard to our merchant banking and debit card issuing business.
    • Manage our integration with our card issuing platforms to ensure scalability,  and performance and support new product enhancements. 
    • Be a strategic partner for our bank and payments product team, providing inputs to the product roadmap and supporting and advocating for product initiatives. 
    • Own our internal settlement and reconciliation process and banking program setup with our banking partners. 
    • Ensure our payment platform is compliant with applicable rules and regulations. 
    • Consistently demonstrate the Dave people leader commitments across a broad range of situations.  
    • Build and develop a high-performing, highly engaged Payment Operations team, ensuring each team member is clear on what is expected of them as individuals and as part of the team, knows where they stand against these expectations, and has the coaching to achieve their career goals.
    • Be a payment expert with detailed knowledge of ACH, RTP, Card Transactions, Wire, and other emerging payment rails. 
    • Manage Dave’s interchange and card transaction processing costs for merchant banking and card issuance.
    • Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, payment providers, financial institutions, and vendors regarding payment processing issues and opportunities. 
    • Work with the Accounting team to plan and coordinate the reconciliation and settlement impact of new product features and support their financial close needs.

What you'll need:

    • You have 8+ years of hands-on experience managing payments or card platforms in large-scale fintech, payment processors, or a bank on merchant banking and card issuing sides.
    • Proven experience in managing an operations team, with a focus on mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
    • Experience with reconciliation of debit and credit card transactions. Familiarity with pooled accounts, sponsor banks, and banking as a service is desired.  
    • Experience with different payment rails such as ACH, Card, RTP, Wire, and others. 
    • You are detail-oriented, stay focused, and can prioritize projects and responsibilities.
    • You have a good working knowledge of the FinTech Industry, specifically payment facilitators, payment networks, card issuing platforms, and more. 
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and manage large-scale projects. 
    • Attention to detail and the ability to problem solve. Hands-on problem solving, using data to identify issues or opportunities for improvement. 
    • Knowledge of financial regulations and payment industry standards is a plus.
$142,000 - $228,000 a year
Dave has established a nationally applicable pay program that recognizes that regardless of where Daves choose to live, their time and effort is of equal value to the company. As such we utilize base salary ranges that are intended to be competitive in all markets and do not differentiate pay based on employee work location.
