About the team and role: 
Dave is looking for a TPM leader to lead teams focused on complex, multi-disciplinary projects across many functions to deliver functionality, features, and releases. In this role, your team will plan program requirements, identify risks, manage timelines, and communicate clearly with project stakeholders. Your team will also be responsible for agile transformation and process improvement as we scale.

Leadership Responsibilities:

    • This role is a people management role responsible for the completion of technical objectives and a key partner to other Engineering leaders.
    • Coaching, developing, and empowering engineering managers and highly senior individual contributors to enable their success in solving problems, delivering on team objectives, and coaching and developing their team members.
    • Establish and support a strong program management discipline focusing on building efficient product development through the Technical Program Management team, enabling self-organizing teams that are empowered to deliver on time quality products
    • Define career rubric and progression for Technical Program Managers of different levels and ensure TPMs are growing professionally with appropriate recognition and feedback and by managing right-sized complex programs for the level.
    • Build positive, trusting relationships through consistent, on-time and quality delivery of commitments and effective communication.

TPM Responsibilities:

    • Drive effective team work, collaboration and commitment for successful execution of programs which involve complex technical solutions across multiple engineering domains, teams and multiple interdependent projects.
    • Define and iterate on Software Development Life Cycle by clearly articulating deliverables at each phase and allowing for Staff Engineers and lead engineers to collaborate with each other and product managers to ensure technical architecture is aligned with product vision and business goals.
    • Drive alignment, prioritization and adoption of tech initiatives of Infrastructure, Security and Platform functions. Create, track and communicate milestones, timelines, deliverables for tech programs by collaborating and prioritizing with various product development teams. 
    • Closely partner with Tech leadership to ensure the tech vision and strategy is translated into execution plans across squads while balancing delivery of business goals and operational needs.
    • Use technical judgment to drive program delivery, technology reviews, provide critical feedback on proposals, create space for trade-off conversations, and build consensus among product leaders/managers and engineering leaders/managers and tech leads/staff across domains.
    • Improving the QA efficiencies and measurements of program deliverables as we build secure, reliable and scalable software releases.
    • Collaborate with MS and establish a process of reviewing customer contacts, app reviews with engineering and product to ensure the right level of urgency and fixes delivered for positive customer impact.
    • Identify synergies and simplify processes to lighten the admin overhead of product development on Engineering managers. Build out processes related to measuring effectiveness of squad operations, IDS and Audit related to Product Development.

Product Development Support & Process Improvement Responsibilities:

    • Scale and enable the growth of our product delivery & planning through process improvement and the establishment of continuous planning and delivery in partnership with our Technology leaders.
    • Standardize agile practice and measure consistent adoption of agile transformation across different product development teams.
    • Standardize collaboration models cross-group - across different levels of leadership and functions to ensure proper involvement and alignment across tech and product through the various phases of Programs - from Discovery, Ideation, Planning, Execution & Launch.
    • Optimize the usage of tools for varying needs (JIRA, Airtable, Confluence).
    • Standardize and institutionalize the change management process for changes to business/tech strategy, priorities and requirements.
    • Build and iterate on process for Ideation & tracking OKR dependencies on product roadmaps.
    • Build out Portfolio Management Frameworks to improve visibility & transparency.
    • Identify duplicate and redundant operation processes within different functions and evangelize consistent, uniform processes for efficient operation.
    • Build reporting of quality, delivery, velocity and tech KPIs/KRs to meet the needs of the tech leadership.

What you'll need:

    • BS or MS from a computer science or similar program.  Other majors will be considered in conjunction with appropriate related experience and/or training.
    • 12+ years of Technical Program Management and/or Software development experience with project management responsibilities.
    • 6+ years of people managing experience in a fast-paced environment.
    • Successful track record growing teams, including hiring, coaching, and mentoring future leaders.
    • Ability to collaborate well and come up with execution and communication models for larger ambiguous projects.
    • Managed relationships with different stakeholders across Leadership, Business, Technical, and Product functions.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent writing and oral communication skills.
    • Experience in a dynamic environment with competing and changing priorities.
    • Fintech experiences like payment, banking, and credit are optional but a big plus.
    • Experience working in a start-up environment is preferred.
$250,000 - $335,000 a year
Dave has established a nationally applicable pay program that recognizes that regardless of where Daves choose to live, their time and effort is of equal value to the company. As such we utilize base salary ranges that are intended to be competitive in all markets and do not differentiate pay based on employee work location.
