We are thrilled to offer the Retail Rookie Programme - a 3-month immersive Retail Management Apprenticeship designed to develop the next generation of sports retail superstars.
This programme is tailored specifically for Year 3 and Year 4 students who are passionate about sports retail and eager to fast-track their way into Decathlon's dynamic leadership pipeline. Upon successfully completing the Rookie Program, top performers will be selected to join our prestigious Decathlon Leadership Program - an accelerated path that can lead to a full-time role as a Sports Department Manager and future Store Leader. Embark on an exciting career jump-start!
Our rookie programme will run from June 1st to August 31st. As a Decathlon Retail Rookie, you'll enjoy a paid, full-time fixed-rate package. This is a store-based program, with a 5-day work shift schedule. You'll be required to work the regular retail hours, including evenings and weekends, to fully experience the rhythms of our business.

Work alongside our experienced Store Leaders and Department Managers to hone your skills, you will gain practical, in-store experience working alongside Decathlon's retail leaders, and don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone - that's where the magic happens!

Your responsibilities:
- Manage Your Sports Category - Oversee your assigned sports category as if it were your own small business. Make strategic decisions to drive product performance and profitability. Ensure visually engaging merchandising and store layouts that captivate customers.
- Be a Decathlon Brand Ambassador - Gain hands-on experience working in one of our retail stores. Provide exceptional customer service to deliver a wonderful shopping experience. Embody the Decathlon spirit in all your interactions with the sports users.
- Explore Your Passions and Collaborate - Identify the areas of retail that ignite your interest and enthusiasm. Tackle cross-functional projects across different retail initiatives. Work closely with your teammates to uncover business capabilities and opportunities for growth.
Must haves & Programme requirements:
- Currently enrolled in your 3rd year or final year of a post-secondary degree program, in any discipline
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven customer-centric mindset
- Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
- Genuine passion for sports, evidenced through involvement in athletic or recreational activities
- Proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively in Cantonese or Mandarin an added advantage
- Priorities will be given to students with availability to commit to the program full-time for summer (1st of June until the 31st of August, 5-day shift duties per week)
- Eligibility Requirement: Applicants must have the legal right to work or take up an internship in Hong Kong.
