The Head of Single Cell Biochemistry at Deepcell will report to VP of Biology and lead the efforts to develop single-cell technologies and workflows for the Deepcell platform. The ideal candidate has a passion for developing new technologies and a proven track record of working in an interdisciplinary environment and turning concepts into products.


    • Lead research efforts and contribute to the company technology roadmap in expanding in single cell space.
    • Build and lead a team of scientists to develop single-cell technologies and workflows for the Deepcell platform
    • Define product requirements and scope for new single-cell projects
    • Drive single-cell technology development projects from concept through development
    • Work closely with Bioinformatics, Hardware and Microfluidic Engineering, Software Engineering, and Data Science to develop and integrate single-cell sequencing workflow into the Deepcell platform to meet commercialization timelines

Key Qualifications:

    • PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, genomics, or similar fields
    • 8+ years’ experience in relevant biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
    • Proven record in moving products from concept phase through launch
    • Extensive experience managing teams of scientist from various backgrounds
    • Deep expertise in various single-cell sequencing technologies as demonstrated by the launch of successful single-cell based product lines
    • Demonstrated success in developing and optimizing novel molecular biology assays
    • Deep understanding of a wide variety of NGS library preparation workflows
    • Experience working with microfluidic devices desired
    • Strong leadership and organizational skills
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
