Responsibilities:

    • Operate and maintain lab instruments including Deepcell R&D systems
    • Troubleshoot and optimize components related to Deepcell’s microfluidic cell analysis workflow
    • Perform cell culture and blood processing protocols
    • Improve upon existing SOPs and develop new SOPs with consistency and clarity
    • Execute standard molecular biology techniques
    • Perform routine laboratory maintenance activities, including ordering & receiving supplies, maintaining consumable inventories and updating instrument usage logbooks
    • Follow good laboratory practices, including upkeep of accurate laboratory notebooks and adherence to documented procedures for all aspects of laboratory work
    • Work closely with colleagues to design experiments and interpret data

Key Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, or similar subject is required, with a minimum of one year laboratory research experience
    • Hands-on experience with microfluidic systems is a plus
    • Prior experience with instrumentation troubleshooting is a plus
    • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, PCR, qPCR and Illumina Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)-based analysis is beneficial
    • Keen attention to detail in laboratory and office-based work
    • Highly collaborative mindset and strong work ethic to successfully deliver within tight deadlines
    • Strong communication skills, especially in conveying information to cross-disciplinary teams
