About this team:
 
Deloitte has both a deep knowledge of tax and statutory requirements and a breadth of experience applying that knowledge in practice. Our approach combines insight and innovation from multiple disciplines with business and industry knowledge to help our clients excel. We utilise this knowledge and experience by simplifying tax management for clients and enhancing their visibility for making informed strategic decisions.
 
Our market leading Tax and Business Advisory team in Hamilton are seeking Intermediate Consultants to join them on a permanent basis due to continued growth. In this role you will be focused on helping small to medium sized enterprises grow and succeed. Your clients will span a variety of industries including retail, rural and services.
 
Your typical day will include:
 
·                Providing advice on a range of advisory and tax issues to clients, including in the context of transaction work, business operations and strategy, and domestic and international tax work.
·                Building relationships with key client contacts.
·                Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and income tax returns / GST returns, as well as assisting clients in managing their tax obligations throughout the year.
·                Assisting in the preparation of management accounts, forecasts, budgets and various other metrics required for clients on a monthly basis.
·                Adopting different methods to collect and analyse data from various sources with the purpose of deriving insights for our clients.
·                Supporting the team by drafting and preparing a range of client deliverables under the guidance of the leadership team.
·                Being present in the market and creating opportunities to build relationships across a broad range of stakeholders.
·                Being part of the culture, becoming a role model for our people and clients, as well as recognising others for the impact they make by their valued contributions.

·                1-4 years accounting’ and / or tax experience
·                A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or similar) is advantageous
·                Previous experience with Xero is advantageous
