We are currently seeking an enthusiastic tax specialist at Manager level to join our Auckland based team. Being part of the largest specialist tax practice in Auckland, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a diverse team that continues to grow.

Deloitte New Zealand's tax team is widely regarded as experts and leaders in their field. Covering a broad range of tax issues, our team works with some of the biggest and best clients to deliver outstanding tax advice and exceed our client’s expectations and partner with their business to grow.During your tenure, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients ranging in size and covering a broad range of tax issues faced by high-net-worth individuals and large privately owned business.

While a typical day is difficult to articulate, below are some key aspects of the role:
- Applying knowledge of current and pending tax legislation and processes in areas of specialisation to client problems 
- Preparing/reviewing income tax provisions for the purpose of reporting in financial statements  
- Fact based decision making by using the appropriate research techniques and skills 
- Helping clients mitigate risk, meet compliance obligations and statutory deadlines, and realise business goals 
- Advising on a wide range of business tax matters from compliance to planning, whilst understanding the implications of expansion, acquisition, divestment, and reorganisation in local contexts 
- Reviewing income tax provisions in accordance with applicable tax accounting standards and confirm all related tax provisions 
- Assisting clients in the resolution of tax disputes 
- Improving work efficiency, effectiveness, and client service by using common technology tools 
- Acting as a role model and recognising others for the impact they make  
- Developing high-performing people and teams through challenging and meaningful opportunities 
- Delivering exceptional client service; maximising results and driving high performance from people while fostering collaboration across businesses and borders 

Enough about us, let’s talk about you. You are someone with:  
- 5+ years’ work experience in a tax advisory environment.
- A professional qualification in law or accounting.
- A strong understanding of end-to-end tax processes and the NZ tax environment.
- Experience in working with High Net Worth individuals and their family groups and/or large privately owned businesses would be beneficial but not necessary.
· Experience using Xero and/or other Financial ERP/Business Systems.
- Ability to demonstrate management flair, drive and identify business development opportunities.
· Proven experience delegating and reviewing work in relation to junior staff members; and
· Coaching and mentoring experience in relation to a successful team.
