About the team
Deloitte New Zealand's Business Advisory team is a market leader and focuses on delivering value to privately owned enterprises of all sizes. We help our clients across New Zealand and beyond to realise their full potential and put them on a pathway to grow and succeed. We are looking for a self-starter who not only has established accounting skills and experience but is also motivated by the opportunity to build their networks and create their own place in the market.

While a typical day is difficult to articulate, below are some key aspects of the role:
·         Problem solving key accounting and tax issues for private businesses, advising clients on best practice accounting methodologies and business growth strategies.
·         Managing multiple jobs concurrently.
·         Identifying and providing insightful recommendations to clients.
·         Sharing knowledge and experiences to develop yourself, peers and junior team members.
·         Being present in the market and creating opportunities to build relationships across a broad range of stakeholders.
·         Being a role model for our people and clients, and recognising others for the impact they make by their valued contributions; and
·         Coaching and managing team members, building careers and technical skills to effectively contribute to client deliverables and team success. 
 
Enough about us, let’s talk about you. You are someone with:
·         Sound accounting and advisory skills developed through 5+ years’ work experience in a Big4 or mid-tier accounting firm, a corporate environment, or a mix of these.
·         CA/CPA (or similar) qualification.
·         Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to build rapport quickly and build connections across all levels within our teams and clients.
·         Good problem-solving skills with an eye for detail - able to report on findings, draw insights and help develop tangible solutions.
·         Experience in the preparation of and reviewing financial statements in compliance with IRD Minimum Standards.
·         Knowledge of GST and income tax.
·         Experience using Xero and/or other Financial ERP/Business Systems.
·         A drive for excellence and a “can-do” attitude.
·         Proven experience delegating and reviewing work in relation to junior staff members; and
·         Coaching and mentoring experience in relation to a successful team.
