The Opportunity
 
At Deloitte our Tax & Private team is focused on creating growth and value for Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and their owners. Our team of 20 based in the Takapuna office (the B:Hive) are looking for a Consultant to join their collaborative and supportive team.   
We work closely with businesses to develop a trusted advisor relationship through our unique and personalized approach to dealing with the individual and unique challenges facing New Zealand businesses today. Our role is to share knowledge and provide guidance, helping small to medium sized enterprises grow and succeed. At Deloitte we are passionate about both the success of our clients and joining them on their business journey.
 
No two days are the same in this varied role. You will work with a team of Consultants and Managers assisting in the preparation of management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, improving business performance efficiencies, preparation of financial statements and tax returns, and playing a crucial role in business strategy conversations. The role will involve being the first point of contact with clients and other external stakeholders. 

About you:

    • 3+ years accounting / business advisory experience in New Zealand
    • CA (or equivalent) qualified or studying/working towards a CA qualification.
    • Experience with a variety of accounting related computer packages, preferably Xero, and Xero ecosystem and/or Netsuite.
    • Power BI experience would be advantageous.
    • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
    • Proven ability to building strong relationships with clients & colleagues.
    • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
    • An energetic and proactive attitude.
    • Experience in managing priorities and delivering to deadlines.
    • Commercial industry experience preferred but not essential.
