Delta Solutions & Strategies is seeking a Senior Communications Specialist supporting the United States Space Force (USSF), Space Systems Command (SSC) Command Staff Support contract.

*Positions contingent on award.

What you will be doing:

    • Apply critical thinking and analysis to provide expert Congressional analysis, synthesis of Congressional Defense Committee (CDC) concerns and issues, as well as insight and knowledge of the annual congressional cycle, processes, and the various events in the Air Force/Space Force Task/Response Timeline to Congress.
    • Must be knowledgeable of the mission, functions, organizational structures, operations, and roles of CDCs, DOD, Air Force, Space Force, SSC, and other entities that govern, interface with, and/or influence space programs acquisitions, reporting, and processes.
    • Conduct congressional research and assist the Government with preparation and review of AF responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), Questions for the Record (QFRs), strategic messaging, hearings, and testimonies for all levels of senior leadership, and all other SSC Congressional-related activities. Assist with planning, coordinating, and preparing logistics for Staffer/Congressional Delegation and committee visits, and prepare congressional briefing templates and materials for SSC reviews.
    • Bi-annually, brief the SSC PEOs, SSC/CC, and/or next-level SSC Leadership regarding the congressional players, climate, upcoming electoral issues, concerns, and items of interest, and relay pertinent, real-time information by phone or email to the PEOs and their staff.

What you will need:

    • Top Secret / SCI security clearance is required
    • MA / MS degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Policy, Literature, History, Business, Economics or STEM related disciplines is required
    • Ten (10) years demonstrated experience in related field is required
    • Strong ability to translate highly technical content into thoughtful, compelling, and effective communication products in support of Space Systems Command customers
    • Strong ability to apply strategic thinking, attention to detail and situational awareness towards communication products and deliverables
    • Knowledge of space acquisition processes, Congress and other relevant government organizations that impact acquisition program offices
    • Knowledge of the PPBE process, Congress, legislation, policies, regulations and acquisition related communication documents (i.e. R-Docs, acquisitions strategies, Congressional Reporting Requirements, GAO reports, IG)
    • Strong writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work closely with teammates and customers across internal and external organizations.
    • Strong ability to think critically and synthesize information from multiple sources into comprehensive plans and document
    • Knowledge of Higher Headquarters, Air Force and Space Force, processes, and procedures as it relates to their functional responsibility
    • Speak/write Air Force, Space Force and Space Acquisition terminology appropriately
    • Deep understanding of mission critical aspects of space acquisition
    • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
    • Project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
    • Goal-oriented, strategic thinker who is also willing to roll up their sleeves and execute tactics

In compliance with California’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $90,000-$140,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
